Daydreamin'....

Haven't written in a long time, so now I'm trying to get back to it. Here's some of my much needed pratice..lol

Sittin here daydreamin...
About holding you close in my arms
becoming the melody in your song
falling head first for your charm
loving that it's you keeping me warm

Daydreamin...
About when you first said my name
had me stuck in delight
at that moment, it was me you claimed
forever and a night

Daydreamin..
About the night, you claimed me as your own
putting a lock on my heart
making sure I never felt alone
knowing that we would never part

Daydreamin...
About the night I gave up my weave
because i loved when you pulled my hair
yeah...it was that night
that night i believe

Daydreamin..
That we could last forever
forever in this moment
we would always be together
yes..this was our atonement

I drift back into reality
realizing how this may seem
wondering about the causality
of this damn daydream

My favs of the week

Okay I must say that I am glad that I found Twitter. Not only because I've found more people to act an azz with, but because for some reason I have a lot more access to what's new or music that's hot that I somehow missed along the way. For instance, I'm pretty sure that people have been listening to Kid Cudi for a minute, but today was my first time listening to a Kid Cudi track. Yeah...I know..lame! But for minute I had given up on listening to new stuff, because everything was starting to sound the same. I just stuck to the music I already had on my itunes. So, I have to give thanks to Tommy (check out his blog iamtommyoliver.blogspot.com) for being such a big fan of Kid Cudi. Anywho...he had a clip on his blog of a chick singing Day 'N Night. The beat was crazy so I went and listened to the original and I dunno...I might be on my way to becoming a fan... Okay next is B.O.B aka Bobby Ray. Never heard of him till i got on twitter. TJ Chapman was always tweetin about him but I never thought about listening to his stuff until TJ put a link to his song Wait your turn on Twitter. Didn't know what to think at first but I am a sucker for originality. I downloaded one of his mixtapes today and I'm luvin it..Dang..I had a third one but I lost my train of thought..lol Big ups to feedmekicks aka audrey & iamtommyoliver aka the green ranger.lol..for puttin me on holla! o_O

Desktop Publishing...Not for the soft hearted..lol

Now for this new project I'm working on, I'm trying to teach myself Graphic Design. WTH was I thinking?! I love learning new things but this jawn (new word from tommy oliver..lol) mad hard. The programs I'm trying to learn are Scribus, Photoscape, & Gimp. This will be a great add to my resume, but I have to give a big ups shout out to all those Graphic Designers out there. Much respect!.....

Ummm...

I"ve been spending most of time commenting on other blogs, that are so much more entertaining..lol but anywho... other blogs you should check out are feedmekicks.blogspot.com iamtommyoliver.blogspot.com and iamnotvladdy.blogspot.com The reason I haven't really been updating my blog is that I'm working on a new project that I've gotten some good feedback on. It's still in the startup stage so I don't want to give anything away just yet!! But I'll keep you posted....

Hip-Hop In Tallahassee, Florida

The older I get the more I start to feel a rift coming in between me and the music I love. I'm wondering does it happen because the older you get, you just can't relate to the content of the music anymore? Well, I've lived in Tallahassee on and off for about ten years now & it has always seemed like the music scene for true music heads has just been nonexistent here. And then TPain appeared. So I've decided to do some digging and prodding into "hip hop" here in Tallahassee. Maybe this will end up becoming the main theme of my blog or maybe not..lol But I plan on keeping everyone updated on what I find. Stay tuned.....

Do we really have it that hard?

I had a long talk with moms this morning. People are always saying how hard their life is or how much they are struggling. And man, some of the things my mom went through growing up in the 50's & 60's I don't know if I could do it. Not only being a woman in that time, but being a Black woman had to be damn hard. Anywhoooo, that conversation made me redefine what struggle is to me. It made feel like all the times that I thought I had it so bad when I couldn't buy a new purse or go to my fave restaurant was just a sure sign of immaturity. Point being, prioritize and analyze..there is always some one out there doing a lot worse than you are.

Just some random ish!!

Born in FLA, raised in Texas & living in many other states (incl. New York & Alabama) in between, I think I have a very different taste in music than the normal person. I mean it's gotten to the point where I don't listen to the radio or watch video tv shows. I'm just starting to get tired of hearing the same thing all the time. So I try to listen to new stuff everyday. Right now my feel good CD of the day has to be DJ Purifiya presents Grind Mode. You can't help but laugh or jook to the songs on this mixtape. Fav songs have to be No Head, Crush All Nite, & Xtacy. Gotta Check it out!
